Terms of Sales - Champagne experiences tasting
PREAMBLE
These Terms and Conditions of Sale ("Terms and Conditions") apply to all products, services and experiences offered by OLFACIE – Dilettantes.
By making a reservation, purchasing a product or service, or redeeming a Gift Voucher, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions in their entirety and without reservation.
The Client acknowledges that they are purchasing a sensory, educational and cultural experience centred around Grower Champagnes and the world of fragrance, and not a predetermined quantity of Champagne, the guaranteed presence of any particular individual or speaker, nor the exact reproduction of any previous experience.
Any reservation immediately results in the allocation of limited places and the mobilisation of the human, material and logistical resources necessary for the proper delivery of the experience.
All reservations constitute a firm and binding commitment from the Client.
OUR EXPERIENCES
These Terms and Conditions apply, without limitation, to:

Standard Champagne Tastings;

Premium Champagne Tastings;
-
Meet the Grower Events;
-
Fragrance Experiences;
-
Champagne Tasting Gift Vouchers;
-
Monetary Gift Vouchers;
-
Private Experiences and Privatizations;
-
Retail purchases made in-store;
-
Delivery services offered by Dilettantes.
The content, duration, time slots, wines, Champagnes, educational materials and speakers involved are those specified on the relevant product page at the time of booking.
Dilettantes reserves the right to modify, supplement or develop its experiences at any time, provided that the nature and overall quality of the experience remain substantially unchanged.
RESERVATION HOLDER
The individual making the reservation shall be deemed to act in their own name and, where applicable, on behalf of all participants included within the reservation.
The reservation holder shall constitute Dilettantes' sole point of contact and undertakes to communicate these Terms and Conditions, all pre-arrival recommendations and any applicable special conditions to all participants.
By completing a reservation, the Client expressly confirms that they have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions in their entirety.
The Client further undertakes to ensure that all participants have been informed of and agree to comply with the applicable Terms and Conditions.
The Client shall remain responsible for:

the punctuality of all participants;
-
communicating any allergies, dietary restrictions or relevant information relating to the reservation;
-
compliance with all recommendations communicated by Dilettantes;
-
and the proper conduct of all participants included within the reservation.
Any issue arising from the behaviour, lateness, absence or non-compliance of one or more participants shall remain the sole responsibility of the Client and shall not give rise to any refund, exchange, postponement, credit or compensation.
CLIENT DETAILS
All reservations must include the Client's complete contact details, namely:

full name;
-
a valid email address;
-
a valid telephone number. - mandatory -
Such information is strictly required for the proper organisation of the experience and enables Dilettantes to communicate practical information, recommendations, schedule changes and any other information relating to the reservation.
Failure to provide the required information may result in Dilettantes refusing or cancelling the reservation without liability.
PUNCTUALITY
All experiences begin strictly at the advertised time.
Participants are required to arrive fifteen (15) minutes prior to the scheduled starting time of their experience.
Experiences will commence at the scheduled time regardless of whether all participants have arrived.
No additional time shall be granted in the event of late arrival.
Should a participant's lateness render their participation wholly or partially impossible, no refund, exchange, postponement, credit or compensation shall be granted.
Any reservation not honoured by the Client shall be deemed permanently forfeited.
STANDARD CHAMPAGNE TASTINGS
The following experiences are considered Standard Champagne Tastings:

Saveur & Pétillance;
-
TERROIR.
Reservations cancelled within twenty-four (24) hours of purchase shall be eligible for a full refund.
Beyond twenty-four (24) hours following purchase, the following cancellation policy shall apply:
-
more than sixty-one (61) days before the scheduled date: 75% of the amount paid shall be refunded;
-
between sixty (60) and thirty-one (31) days inclusive before the scheduled date: 50% of the amount paid shall be refunded;
-
less than thirty (30) days before the scheduled date: no refund, exchange, postponement, credit or compensation shall be granted.
Any reservation not honoured by the Client shall be deemed permanently forfeited.
PREMIUM CHAMPAGNE TASTINGS
All Champagne Tastings other than Saveur & Pétillance and TERROIR shall be deemed Premium Champagne Tastings, including but not limited to:
-
TERROIR PREMIUM;
-
MASTERCLASS;
-
TÊTE DE CUVÉE;
-
SPECIAL CLUB;
-
SPECIAL ROSÉ;
-
and any seasonal, exceptional or limited-edition experience offered by Dilettantes.
Premium Champagne Tastings require specific organisational arrangements and involve a strictly limited allocation of places.
Beyond twenty-four (24) hours following purchase, all reservations shall become final and binding.
Premium Champagne Tastings are strictly:
-
non-refundable;
-
non-exchangeable;
-
non-transferable;
-
non-postponable;
-
and may not be converted into a Gift Voucher, credit note or any other experience offered by Dilettantes.
Any reservation not honoured by the Client shall be deemed permanently forfeited.
MEET THE GROWER EVENTS
Meet the Grower Events are exceptional experiences organised around the participation of one of Dilettantes' partner Grower Champagne producers.
Beyond twenty-four (24) hours following purchase, all reservations shall become final and binding.
Reservations are strictly non-refundable, non-exchangeable, non-transferable and non-postponable.
Meet the Grower Events remain subject to a minimum number of participants.
Should the minimum number of participants not be reached, Dilettantes may, at its sole discretion, offer:
-
a postponement;
-
an equivalent experience;
-
or a refund.
The attendance of the announced Grower remains subject to their availability and to the operational requirements of their estate.
Should the announced Grower be unable to attend, Dilettantes reserves the exclusive right to:
-
maintain the experience hosted by its own team;
-
offer participation in a future Meet the Grower Event;
-
or offer an equivalent TERROIR Champagne Tasting experience.
The choice of the solution offered shall remain entirely at the sole discretion of Dilettantes and shall not constitute an acquired right of the Client.
CHAMPAGNE TASTING GIFT VOUCHERS
Champagne Tasting Gift Vouchers are valid for twelve (12) months from their date of purchase unless otherwise stated on the relevant product page.
Gift Voucher holders are solely responsible for making their reservation sufficiently in advance.
Reservations must be made no later than one (1) month prior to the Gift Voucher expiration date and remain subject to availability.
Gift Vouchers do not guarantee the availability of any particular date, time slot or tasting experience.
The inability or unwillingness of the Gift Voucher holder to attend any available dates proposed by Dilettantes shall not constitute grounds for a refund, extension, exchange, replacement, postponement or credit.
Should the proposed dates not suit the Gift Voucher holder's personal schedule, travel plans or preferences, the Gift Voucher shall nevertheless remain subject to its original expiration date.
Expired Gift Vouchers shall be deemed permanently forfeited and shall not give rise to any refund, extension, exchange, replacement, postponement, credit or compensation.
Gift Vouchers are strictly non-refundable and may not be redeemed for cash under any circumstances.
Any reservation made using a Gift Voucher remains subject to these Terms and Conditions and to the specific conditions applicable to the experience selected.
A Gift Voucher does not guarantee the permanent availability of an experience commercialised at the time of its purchase.
MONETARY GIFT VOUCHERS
Monetary Gift Vouchers are valid for the period specified at the time of purchase or issuance.
They may only be used up to their face value and remain subject to the availability of the products and services offered by Dilettantes at the time of redemption.
Monetary Gift Vouchers are strictly non-refundable, non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash, whether in whole or in part.
Any unused balance remaining after the expiration date shall be deemed permanently forfeited and shall not give rise to any refund, extension, replacement, exchange, postponement, credit or compensation.
The inability or unwillingness of the Gift Voucher holder to redeem their Gift Voucher before its expiration date shall remain solely their responsibility.
PRIVATE EXPERIENCES AND PRIVATIZATIONS
Any reservation involving the exclusive use of the cellar or the privatization of a time slot shall constitute a Private Experience.
Private Experiences may be organised from two (2) participants onwards and are subject to specific booking and payment conditions communicated prior to confirmation.
Any reservation involving six (6) participants or more shall automatically and mandatorily require the privatization of a time slot and shall give rise to mandatory privatization fees.
This provision applies irrespective of the booking method used, including but not limited to:
-
direct reservations;
-
Champagne Tasting Gift Vouchers;
-
Monetary Gift Vouchers;
-
or any other products or services offered by Dilettantes.
Privatization fees are not included within the publicly advertised price of individual tasting experiences unless expressly stated otherwise.
Dilettantes reserves the right to consider separate reservations made for the same date, time slot or group of participants as a single reservation where it reasonably appears that such reservations have been made for the purpose of circumventing mandatory privatization fees.
Private Experiences remain subject to specific Terms and Conditions communicated separately where applicable. In the event of inconsistency, such specific conditions shall prevail.
FRAGRANCE EXPERIENCES
Experiences dedicated to the world of fragrance remain subject to the specific conditions described on their respective product pages.
The raw materials, olfactory accords, educational content and sensory exercises may vary without altering the essential nature of the experience offered.
No refund, exchange or compensation shall be granted on the grounds that a participant's personal olfactory preferences differ from those anticipated.
ALLERGIES AND DIETARY RESTRICTIONS
Certain experiences may include food pairings or specific food products.
Participants are solely responsible for informing Dilettantes, at the time of reservation, of any allergies, intolerances, dietary restrictions or medical conditions relevant to their participation.
Dilettantes shall not be held liable for:
-
allergies or intolerances not previously disclosed;
-
incomplete, inaccurate or late information communicated by the Client;
-
or the material impossibility of accommodating a particular dietary requirement.
Any alternatives offered remain subject to operational and logistical constraints and shall never be guaranteed.
The inability to provide an alternative product or ingredient shall not constitute grounds for any refund, exchange, postponement, credit or compensation.
CONDUCT OF PARTICIPANTS
Dilettantes reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse admission to or immediately exclude any participant whose conduct is incompatible with the proper, safe and enjoyable conduct of the experience.
This includes, without limitation:
-
intoxication or apparent intoxication;
-
excessive alcohol consumption prior to arrival;
-
aggressive, abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour;
-
insulting, discriminatory or disrespectful conduct towards members of staff or other participants;
-
failure to comply with instructions communicated by Dilettantes;
-
conduct compromising the safety, comfort or enjoyment of other participants;
-
any behaviour liable to disrupt the proper conduct of the experience.
Champagne tasting experiences offered by Dilettantes are educational and sensory experiences and are not intended for excessive alcohol consumption.
Dilettantes reserves the right to refuse the service of alcohol to any participant whenever deemed necessary.
Any refusal of admission or exclusion pursuant to the foregoing provisions shall result in the immediate forfeiture of the reservation without refund, exchange, postponement, credit or compensation.
SCENT-FREE POLICY
Champagne tasting experiences take place within an underground cellar, a confined environment specifically dedicated to the sensory analysis of Champagne.
The sense of smell constitutes an essential and inseparable component of every tasting experience.
In order to preserve optimal tasting conditions for all participants, guests are strictly prohibited from wearing or using, prior to their session, any scented or fragranced products, including but not limited to:
-
perfume;
-
eau de toilette;
-
aftershave;
-
scented body creams or lotions;
-
scented oils;
-
body sprays;
-
hair perfumes or scented hair products;
-
essential oils;
-
fragranced cosmetics;
-
scented hand sanitizers;
-
scented electronic cigarettes or vaping products;
-
strongly scented detergents or fabric softeners;
-
or any other product likely to alter the sensory environment of the tasting.
Participants are strongly encouraged to refrain from applying fragranced products throughout the day of their reservation.
Any participant generating an olfactory disturbance liable to affect the sensory experience of other guests may, at the sole discretion of Dilettantes:
-
be refused access to the premises;
-
be excluded from the tasting experience;
-
or have their participation immediately terminated.
No refund, exchange, postponement, credit or compensation shall be granted under any circumstances.
The decision to refuse or terminate participation shall be made exclusively by Dilettantes and shall not be subject to dispute or give rise to any financial compensation.
PRE-TASTING RECOMMENDATIONS
Champagne tasting experiences primarily rely upon participants' olfactory and gustatory abilities.
Practical recommendations are communicated prior to the experience in order to allow participants to fully appreciate the sensory characteristics of the Champagnes presented.
Participants acknowledge that their sensory perception may be altered by, including but not limited to:
-
the use of fragranced products;
-
the prior consumption of strongly flavoured or spicy foods;
-
excessive consumption of coffee, tobacco or alcohol;
-
medication or medical treatment affecting sensory perception;
-
temporary medical conditions affecting taste or smell;
-
or any other circumstance affecting their sensory abilities.
Dilettantes shall not be held liable for any total or partial alteration of a participant's sensory perception resulting from such circumstances.
The inability of a participant to fully perceive or appreciate the aromas presented during the experience shall not constitute grounds for any refund, exchange, postponement, credit or compensation.
OUTSIDE FOOD AND BEVERAGES
Outside food and beverages are strictly prohibited within Dilettantes' tasting areas.
Any products brought by participants must be consumed outside the premises.
Dilettantes does not guarantee access to indoor areas or that doors will remain open before or after tasting experiences, notably due to weather conditions, temperature requirements and operational constraints.
Failure to comply with these provisions may result in refusal of admission or immediate exclusion without refund, exchange, postponement, credit or compensation.
RETAIL PURCHASES
All products purchased in-store are deemed to have been received in satisfactory condition upon collection by the Client.
Champagnes are sensitive products requiring appropriate storage and transportation conditions.
Consequently, all in-store purchases are final and are strictly non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
No refund, exchange or compensation shall be granted, including but not limited to, in the event of:
-
change of mind;
-
purchasing error;
-
insufficient luggage space;
-
transportation difficulties;
-
early departure;
-
forgotten purchases;
-
or any circumstance beyond the control of Dilettantes.
Dilettantes shall not be held liable for the storage, transportation or preservation conditions of products following their collection by the Client.
BAGS AND PACKAGING
As part of its environmentally responsible approach, Dilettantes provides bags and packaging materials as optional paid items unless expressly stated otherwise.
DELIVERY SERVICES
Delivery services may be offered within France and internationally.
Delivery conditions, timelines, insurance requirements and applicable fees may vary depending upon the destination and nature of the products concerned.

PHOTOGRAPHS
Certain experiences or events may be photographed or filmed for communication purposes relating to Dilettantes and its partners.
Participants who do not wish to appear in such materials are required to inform Dilettantes prior to the commencement of the experience.
FORCE MAJEURE
Dilettantes shall not be held liable for any total or partial failure to perform its obligations arising from events beyond its reasonable control, including cases of force majeure.
Where appropriate, Dilettantes may, at its sole discretion, offer an alternative solution adapted to the circumstances. Any such proposal shall not constitute an acquired right of the Client.
FINAL PROVISIONS
Any reservation, purchase or participation in an experience offered by Dilettantes constitutes full, unconditional and irrevocable acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Failure by Dilettantes to enforce any provision of these Terms and Conditions on one or more occasions shall not be construed as a waiver of its right to rely upon such provision at any subsequent time.
No provision of these Terms and Conditions shall be interpreted in favour of a refund, exchange, postponement, credit or compensation unless expressly and unequivocally provided for herein.
